Process Post #11 – What Happens Next?

For our last week in PUB 201 (Week 12), we came together to debrief and think about the future of our websites. Because of the virus going around, I feel like I have been spending more time creating content and trying to tweak a few things here and there. When this class is over I still plan to keep things up to date on this website.

This class has taught me so many crucial things about content creation, building an audience, analytics, monetization, etc. All which are very important when it comes to trying to build a stronger brand/website. Aside from learning about logistics, I’ve realized the true importance of creating content that is authentic and original. As a musician, I noticed that I haven’t actually figured out “my brand” up until I started taking this course. I’ve created a mandate, designed a logo, narrowed down on a visual theme and will continue to develop this throughout my journey!!

Looking at a few of my statistics today compared to my first process post back in January, I can see that my audience/listeners have grown significantly!!

YOUTUBE:

APRIL 2020
JANUARY 2020

SPOTIFY:

APRIL 2020
JANUARY 2020

To be honest, I was quite shocked to see how much things have grown since starting this course! Looking at a few of the factors, I think the virus contributed to this increase in viewers/listeners. Since more people are spending time at home, this may mean that they have more time to spend online. I’m excited to see what growth will happen within the next few years!!
