PUB101 – Process Post (Week 7)

Process Post Prompt: Based on the peer review you received, make some changes to at least one design element on your site. Write about how you made that change.

After receiving some great feedback from my first peer review, I have made quite a few changes to my site. The first being the addition of an SSL on my website. Many might refer to this as the little lock sign displayed at the left side of a URL. Essentially, SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer. This is known to many as the standard technology for keeping an internet connection secure and safeguarding any sensitive/important data being sent between two systems. By adding this SSL, I am taking the proper preventative measures to keep hackers or criminals from reading and modifying any data being transfers that could contain personal details.

In addition, I was able to add a custom favicon to my site. This can be seen in the little icon displayed at the top tab of my website. This can help create a more cohesive blend and customization to my brand as well as help extend more trust towards my audience/those viewing my page.

For those wanting to add an SSL to their website, I was able to do so through a neat plugin called Really Simple SSL and they’re great!
